Are you a big of weird cinema? Can you appreciate a high degree of randomness and fantasy merged into one, mixed with a little disgusting on the side? If so, there's a movie that just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival that is likely right up your alley. This film is director Matteo Garrone's Tale of Tales, which reactions paint as one seriously bizarre flick.

Vulture had the chance to attend the premiere of the film in France last night, and their piece recounting the experience suggests that Tale of Tales is one of those movies that really needs to be seen to be believed. The article isn't overly positive, saying that it's going to be hard for some audiences to determine a theme or "a point" in the feature, but there is a very long list of bizarre things that occur in the narrative.

You'll have to head over to the original article to see the full list, but here are a few examples that we can pair along with images grabbed from the film's debut trailer. Let's start with the fact that the movie features one story that involves Salma Hayek sitting down for a nice dinner that consists solely of a giant, raw sea-monster heart:

Then there's Hunger Games/Captain America star Toby Jones, who hangs out wearing a kimono in the film while taking care of his precious, dying pet - a creature that looks like a giant flea:

And French actor Vincent Cassel gets on the weirdness by waking up next to a woman after a night of sex, decides that she is too ugly, and has her thrown out a window.

While those are just the moments featured in the trailer, some of the more horrific material in Tale of Tales is apparently retained for the theaters. The most notable entries of this nature involve an old woman who really doesn't like the look of her wrinkles and wants to look more attractive. According to Vulture, there is a scene where she first tries to glue the folds of her skin together to appear younger, but then decides that the best course of action is just to have a man cut off her wrinkly skin. This movie definitely does not sound like it is for the weak.

Tales of Tales is now out in theaters in Italy, and will be hitting French cinemas on July 1st. At this time, there is no United States release date announced, but you can head over to Page Two to watch the bizarre trailer.
