The enigmatic actor-filmmaker, whose story inspired 'The Disaster Artist,' plays a bounty hunter in his latest effort.

If the recent awards season has shown anything, it's that people can't get enough of Tommy Wiseau, who was seen all over town, with fans of his cult hit The Room asking for selfies with him whether he was at the Golden Globes or the Film Independent Spirit Awards.

Just days after celebrating James Franco's The Disaster Artist, which is based on the making of The Room. with visits to the Spirit Awards and a couple Oscar afterparties, Wiseau has announced a new project, and it's already shot. The Hollywood Reporter debuts a teaser for the new film, called Scary Love, below.

Wiseau, known for writing, directing and starring in The Room (the so-bad-it's-good 2003 cult hit), plays the lead character — a bounty hunter in search of his long-lost love — in the new film, which is set in a bleak Los Angeles.

Wiseau didn't helm this effort; it was directed by Jennifer Juniper Stratford of production company Telefantasy Studios. Scary Love is described as "a science fiction tale told in the style of classic B-movies and outfitted with practical special effects, laser beams and lunatic ideas which are guaranteed to make it the next big midnight movie hit." Details on its release plan are currently under wraps.

It has been 14 years since Wiseau made The Room but the enigmatic director-actor has found himself back in the spotlight with The Disaster Artist. Franco, who played Wiseau in the pic, won a Golden Globe for his work.

Greg Sestero (who wrote the book on which The Disaster Artist was based and also appeared in The Room) and Wiseau recently shot a new film, Best F(r)iends. The movie, which follows a man (Sestero) who meets a lonely mortician (Wiseau) and embarks on a wild journey, will be released in two parts: Volume One on March 30 and April 2, and Volume Two on June 1 and June 4.

The duo also recently had the first-ever wide release for The Room, which hit 600 theaters on Jan. 10. The film continues to have special screenings all over the U.S. this week.
