Last week on Thursday we were all gifted with the release of the first RoboCop trailer for the upcoming 2014 reboot of the classic sci-fi series. This week we get the first look at the official movie poster for the reboot and while it’s simple, it will have fans wanting to know much more about what’s in store.

This is an even closer look at the new RoboCop suit that will be featured in the reboot, and it’s a topic that has loyal fans up in arms. While it’s a sleek, modern look, fans of the original films have noted that the suit doesn’t fit the style of the original films.

Of course, the easy argument to make is that this isn’t the original so naturally the suit will be different, but the clean break from the original films is something that even Peter Weller is making note of. Still, even if the film aesthetically looks much different that the original three films, the talented cast should help keep die-hards at least a little amused.

With a cast that boasts talent like Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton and Samuel L. Jackson among others, the reboot of the franchise is sure to lure in fans unfamiliar with the original films as it attempts to appease it’s loyal fanbase as well.
