The UK trailer for Robin Hood explores how Robin of Loxley goes from being a war-hardened Crusader to a noble outlaw who battles the corrupt English crown in the film. This particular retelling of the Robin Hood folk legend stars Taron Egerton (the Kingsman movies) as Robin opposite Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx as a Moorish commander who goes by simply (Little) John. The film was originally scheduled to hit theaters this past March, but was later delayed until September and eventually pushed back an additional two months to November.

Lionsgate has certainly been doing its part to promote the movie, having already released a pair of domestic Robin Hood trailers, a UK teaser trailer and multiple posters highlighting characters like Robin and John. Even so, there's not a lot of buzz - good or bad - around Robin Hood at the moment and the film has thus far been eclipsed by anticipated November titles like Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Creed II. Of course, that may yet change over the course of the seven (or so) weeks left until its release.

Fittingly enough, Lionsgate has now kicked off the final stretch of Robin Hood's marketing campaign with the release of a new UK trailer that further highlights the film's slick action and origin story for Robin himself. Take a look in the space below.

Like this trailers before it, this new Robin Hood promo focuses primarily on the student-mentor relationship that Robin forms with John, along with the looming threat posed by the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham (Ben Menselsohn) in the film. This particular trailer further frames Robin as being traumatized and disillusioned by his time fighting in the Crusades, in an effort to dig deeper into the character's motivations and psychology than Robin Hood movies past have. Characters like Maid Marian (Eve Hewson) briefly show up here but, for the large part, this trailer is concerned with Robin's backstory above all else.

Directed by Otto Barthurst (Peaky Blinders) and produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, the 2018 Robin Hood certainly isn't hurting for big-name talent. The trailers further assure that the film won't be lacking when it comes to stylish set pieces and fight choreography, either. At the same time, the Robin Hood story and script by relative newcomers Ben Chandler and David James Kelly continue to come off as being a pretty derivative "superhero" origin narrative, its historical setting aside. Fortunately, we won't have to wait that much longer to find out if the actual movie has more to offer than that.
