There's such a thing in the movie business called "The Black List". It's a huge list of scripts that have yet to enter production, however of the 987 scripts featured on the list, 302 so far have been made (movies such as Argo, Slumdog Millionaire, Kings Speech and Juno). This current Black List can actually be downloaded and it makes an incredible read.
