There’s finally some good news for Sylvester Stallone fans. The fan-favorite actor has got fans hyped after his recent post on Instagram. It looks like the actor is hinting his return as the troubled Vietnam Veteran in Rambo 5.
The 72-year-old Stallone took to Instagram to share a photo of himself as John Rambo, the fan-favorite iconic character.
“… A SAVAGE RISING! … soon,” the actor captioned the picture.
In more news, A recent listing spotted on Production Weekly stated that the project will begin production on September 1 in Bulgaria and Canary Islands. Geeks Worldwide have also confirmed the report.
The actor first played Rambo in 1982’s First Blood and then in 1985’s Rambo: First Blood Part II, 1988’s Rambo III and 2008’s Rambo. The whispers of a fifth Rambo film have been floating around for quite some time now. In fact, back in May, Screen Daily reported that production on Rambo 5 is scheduled to begin on September 1. The report added that filming will take place in London, Bulgaria, and the Canary Islands.
Notably, the use of the word savage in the caption hints the upcoming movie will likely be brutal, full of blood and gore. The caption is also a possible reference to the film’s long-standing rumored title, “Rambo V: The Savage Hunt.” Rambo 5 will reportedly see Rambo move out of Southeast Asia to take on a Mexican cartel as he goes on a quest to find his friend’s kidnapped daughter.
Stallone will next appear in Creed II which is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and written by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker. Creed II also stars Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Russell Hornsby, Florian Munteanu, Andre Ward, Phylicia Rashad, and Dolph Lundgren. Writer-director Ryan Coogler serves as an executive producer on the film.
The film’s story follows Adonis Creed who goes through vigorous training to defeat the son of Ivan Drago, the athlete who killed his father in the ring more than 30 years ago.
Rambo 5 has no release date attached yet, while Creed 2 will release in theaters on November 21, 2018.
