Police Presence Around Regal Theater As Late Show Of "Let’s Be Cops"

Following peaceful protests over the shooting death of an unarmed teen which later resulted in looting of business in the area, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon imposed a curfew for city of Ferguson tonight. “We cannot allow the ill will of the few to undermine the good will of the many and continue to put the people and businesses of this community in danger,” he said in a press conference just hours ago to declare a state of emergency. “To protect the people and the property of Ferguson” the governor has imposed a curfew from midnight to 5AM.

The biggest theater serving the Ferguson community — the very popular Regal St. Louis Mills Stadium 18 — is playing the unfortunately timed and titled Let’s Be Cops from Fox. The theater, which is also showing many of this weekend’s Top Ten box office titles, has both standard screens and an IMAX.

“We have police officers inside the theater and outside the theater driving around but the (late) shows will go on,” said a staffer at the theater. There are late shows for a number of titles, including a 10:55 PM show for The Expendables 3, a 10:45 PM showing of Let’s Be Cops, a 10:40 PM for Guardians of the Galaxy (IMAX), a 10:35 PM screening for Into the Storm, a 10:30 PM showings for holdovers Lucy and The Purge: Anarchy.
