We've said it before, and we will most certainly say it again: now seems like a great time to buy Disney stock. The entertainment giant has become a consistently reliable source for movies over the years, and Pixar has seen particular success recently. The Pixar slate is currently packed to the brim with seriously exciting projects, but it now seems that some drastic changes have been made, as The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 have officially swapped release dates.

A new report from Variety confirms that Pixar has done some serious shuffling with regards to the release dates for it most highly anticipated films. First, we will give you the good news: it seems that The Incredibles 2 will hit theaters a full year earlier than expected on June 15, 2018 -- as opposed to the initially announced date of June 21, 2019. However, the fast tracking of The Incredibles 2 means that Toy Story 4 has officially been pushed back to the June 21, 2019 slot.

How you take this news will really depend on which of these Pixar films you're more interested in. On one hand, there has only been one Incredibles movie, and it hit theaters in 2004; there's a case to be made that this sequel definitely deserves to hit theaters sooner than another Toy Story movie. On the other hand, the Toy Story franchise has pretty much become the crown jewel of Pixar, and all three installments in the series have floored audiences -- particularly the most recent film, which easily became the highest grossing film of 2010, as well as Pixar's second-highest grossing movie of all time (behind Finding Dory).

Regardless of the changes, there's still plenty to get excited about, as both of these animated features will bring vital elements back into the fray. Not only has Brad Bird signed on to direct the next Incredibles, but Tom Hanks and Tim Allen have both signed on to return to their iconic roles as Woody and Buzz in the next Toy Story. If you grew up with these animated classics, it will likely feel like nothing has changed.

Of course, it's not like Disney has any reason to rush either of these highly anticipated films to theaters anytime soon. Pixar has done phenomenal work by taking its time with long-awaited sequels -- look no further than Finding Dory for an example of that phenomenal track record -- and Disney already has an army of Marvel, and Star Wars movies on the horizon. We have plenty to keep ourselves occupied for the foreseeable future.

CinemaBlend will bring you any and all relevant details related to the upcoming releases of The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 as more information becomes available. The former will hit theaters on June 15, 2018, and the latter will follow one year later on June 21, 2019. Stay tuned for more details!
