Paul Walker’s death definitely took the world by storm. As the news began to settle in, more and more questions started to arise from the fans and media collectively. From the details of Walker’s death to the future of the unfinished “Fast and Furious 7,” fans were basically left with the notion of “Where do we go from here?” Now, there’s a definitive answer.

Avid Fast and Furious fans have been waiting for film executives to decide the fate of the highly anticipated film, and now Universal Pictures has made the final call. According to TheWrap, on Sunday, December 22, Universal issued a press release in regards to the status of the delayed film. The film production studio briefly announced the changes that would be put into action for the seventh installment of the Fast and Furious series.

“Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of FAST & FURIOUS 7, which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series, and Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return as producers.”

Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel also took a minute to weigh in on the latest announcements. Diesel took to Facebook to share a picture from the last scene he filmed with Walker. He also shared the newly confirmed release date for the film.

Diesel’s caption for the picture read, “The last scene we filmed together…There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come…Fast and Furious 7 will be released…April 10th 2015! P.S. He’d want you to know first…”

The new release date was also shared on the official Fast and Furious Twitter timeline.

The message immediately spread like wildfire with more than 7,000 retweets. It’s definitely safe to say fans are patiently awaiting Walker’s final act before the curtains officially close.
