It's been almost 13 years since the last Lord of the Rings movie hit theaters, but Legolas and the rest of the fellowship have a permanent reminder of the time they spent in Middle Earth.

On Thursday, Orlando Bloom shared an old photo on Instagram, throwing it back to the time he and the rest of the Lord of the Rings cast got matching tattoos to celebrate the end of filming. Bloom, Viggo Mortensen, Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, and Sean Bean each got the number nine written in J.R.R. Tolkien's Elvish Tengwar script, although John Rhys-Davies, who played Gimli, famously declined. (His stunt double got the tattoo instead.)

Earlier this year, Monagahan recounted the tale of the tattoos to EW, revealing that he and the other cast members considered a tattoo of the One Ring or the word "fellowship" before settling on the number nine. They then headed to an old tattoo parlor in Wellington, New Zealand to get inked.[ew_image nid="2715443" align="left" width="320" height="240"]

"It was one of those beautiful moments, where we all felt like we had been through this war, this battle, together in a lot of different ways," Monaghan recalled. "That really brought together that family feeling."
