Jason Wingreen, who voiced the beloved Star Wars bounty hunter Boba Fett, has died. He was 95.

The actor passed away on December 25 at his home in Los Angeles, his son Ned informed The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to his role in Star Wars: Episode V -- The Empire Strikes Back, Wingreen starred in the classic American sitcoms All in the Family and Archie Bunker's Place. He also appeared in a handful of episodes of The Twilight Zone and Seinfeld, as well as several other TV shows and films.

Interestingly enough, the Boba Fett voice actor originally auditioned for the role of Yoda, but was instead offered four lines of dialogue for a bounty hunter that would go on to become one of Star Wars' most popular characters.

"I think the actual work, aside from the hellos and goodbyes and all that, could have been no more than 10 minutes," Wingreen said of the role, for which he received no credit or residuals.

Wingreen is survived by is son, as well as two grandchildren and his sister, Harriet.
