Fans hoping for original Jurassic Park vets in the upcoming fourth film shouldn't hold their breath.

During an interview for Sam Neill's upcoming film, The Adventurer: The Curse of Midas Box, the Examiner asked the star of the original Jurassic Park if he'd come back as Dr. Alan Grant for Jurassic World if given the opportunity.

"Look, you never say no," Neill answered. "I think there’s a whole new cast and a whole new look at things, and I think that’s great. As I said, I’d never say no, but I wish them… well, I’m sure it’s going to be great, but they don’t need me."

It looks like Jurassic World is going to see the franchise separating itself from the original trilogy, which featured different actors from the first film in each sequel. Neither Laura Dern (Dr. Ellie Sattler) nor Jeff Goldblum (Dr. Ian Malcolm) have confirmed any connection to the next installment when asked about it, so unless the actors are all taking a page from J.J. Abrams' "deny everything" playbook, it seems that Jurassic World is going to be a fresh start for the series.

Jurassic World opens June 12, 2015.
