Christopher Plummer and Jonathan Pryce also star in Bleecker Street's historical dramedy.

Bah, humbug!

Bleecker Street has released a trailer for The Man Who Invented Christmas, and it offers a thorough introduction to Charles Dickens, as portrayed by Dan Stevens.

In the pic, the Beauty and the Beast star plays the acclaimed author who, amidst a bout of writer's block, blended real-life inspirations with his imagination to create his classic holiday story A Christmas Carol in 1843. The tale introduced readers to Ebenezer Scrooge (portrayed in the film by Christopher Plummer), Tiny Tim and many other beloved characters, and the trailer previews how they were created in Dickens' mind.

Jonathan Pryce and Donald Sumpter are also among the cast of the historical dramedy, directed by Bharat Nalluri.

The Man Who Invented Christmas is set to hit theaters Nov. 22.
