The clip shows Joel Kinnaman's Alex Murphy struggle to deal with the confusion of waking up after a near-death accident and being turned into a cyborg. RoboCop is a remake of the classic 1987 sci-fi film of the same name and sees The Killing star Kinnaman take on the role made famous by Peter Weller. The reboot's bumper cast also includes Samuel L Jackson, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish and Jackie Earle Haley.

The film's official plot synopsis teases: "In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it's meant billions for OmniCorp's bottom line.

"Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it," the synopsis continues. "When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice."

The RoboCop reboot was shot by Brazilian director Jose Padilha last year (2012) in Toronto and Detroit on an estimated budget of $120 million (£76 million) - more than nine times the $13 million (£8 million) cost of the original film. It opens in UK cinemas on February 7, 2014.
