Season 10 of The X-Files, which landed last year, may not have been an unqualified success, but it did generate enough interest to spawn another run of episodes, and Season 11 will be with us in 2018. And now we know one of the new people that David Duchovny's Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Scully will be meeting: Barbara Hershey.
Specifically, they'll meet Erika Price, a powerful figure who represents a mysterious organisation. So that'll be something fresh for the show, then.
All we know so far is that Anderson and Duchovny will be back alongside Mitch Pileggi's Skinner. According to the creators (including main man Chris Carter), the series will be dialing back the reliance on the complicated mythology and sticking with more standalones. And you need more authorised X-Files fodder, an audio book called Cold Cases featuring Duchovny and Anderson and based on Joe Harris' Season 10 graphic novels aiming to fill in the time between 2008's I Want To Believe and the last season, landed in July.
