Philip Winchester, who plays Sgt. Michael Stonebridge in the TV series Strike Back, has joined the cast of Chicago Law.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Winchester is on board to star in NBC's upcoming Chicago Fire spinoff as its first official cast member.


The network has yet to order a pilot for the show, but Chicago Law will likely make its debut through a backdoor episode during one of the other Chicago series, much like how NBC handled its two preceding spinoff shows, Chicago PD and Chicago Med.

Earlier this month, NBC announced renewals for Law & Order: SVU and Chicago Med, which enter their eighteenth and second seasons, respectively. Chicago Fire and Chicago PD have been renewed for the 2016-17 season as well.

Dick Wolf needs to calm the hell down. Enough with the spinoffs...SVU has run it's course, what 17 years now? Chicago Fire was good at the beginning, it lately run out of story arcs....Chicago PD is not so bad but other than Jason Beghe the rest of the cast is...eh...ok....Chicago Med is nothing special...and now a Chicago Law? Seriously what's the next mega event?
A serial killer from SVU comes to chicago and starts fires, injures a bunch of people, then gets arrested by Voight and the gang and end up in court for Chicago Law? Enough already!!!
