Fifty Shades of Grey actress Marcia Gay Harden has joined the cast of Point Blank, Netflix's remake of the 2010 French film of the same name. Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo headline the crime drama from director Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2) and writer Adam G. Simon (Man Down).

The original Point Blank starred Gilles Lellouche and Roschdy Zem in the story of a male nurse who saves the life of a thief, only to have the thief's henchmen kidnap his wife in order to force him to let their boss go. The remake stars Mackie as an emergency room nurse and Grillo as a murder suspect who form an unlikely pair as they go up against gangsters and cops while trying to save Mackie's abducted wife and unborn child. The film is co-produced by Grillo and Joe Carnahan, who previously worked together on The Grey, Wheelmen and Pride and Glory.

Variety now reports that Grillo and Mackie will be joined in Point Blank by Oscar-winner Marcia Gay Harden. No details are yet available about Harden's character. In addition, Variety reports that Teyonah Parris (Empire), Boris McGiver (House of Cards) and Markice Moore (The Walking Dead) have also joined the movie's cast.

Marcia Gay Harden began her movie career in 1984 as an uncredited dancer in the original Footloose. She made her first major impression in the Coen Brothers' classic Irish gangster saga Miller's Crossing, playing the femme fatale Verna Bernbaum, a role she won by beating out Julia Roberts, Demi Moore and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Harden scored her first Oscar nomination and first win for playing the artist Lee Krasner opposite a Method-acting Ed Harris in the 2001 biopic Pollock. She received a second career nomination for her performance as Celeste in 2003's Mystic River. She didn't receive an Oscar nod, but Harden made a lasting impression on many for her performance as the villainous Mrs. Carmody in 2007's The Mist. The actress appeared earlier this year in the critically panned Fifty Shades Freed, which marked her third go-around playing the mother of Christian Grey.

Of course, Harden isn't the only Oscar-winner bringing her talents to Netflix. A bevy of former honorees will lend their prestige to the Netflix roster thanks to 2007 Best Director Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, starring past winners Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Two-time winner (for Best Screenplay and Best Picture) Ben Affleck will also make the leap to Netflix via the action movie Triple Frontier, co-starring Oscar Isaac and Charlie Hunnam. Later in 2018, the streaming service will release The Highwaymen starring former Oscar-winner for Best Director Kevin Costner. Netflix has yet to announce a release date for Point Blank.
