Jon Bernthal stars as the heavily armed vigilante in Netflix's next Marvel series.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. The second greatest trick the devil ever pulled was joining forces with Frank Castle.
Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) stands front and center in an all-new official teaser for The Punisher, the next series up from Marvel and Netflix's partnership. The minute-long teaser was first unveiled as a post-credits sequence for The Defenders, the eight-episode event series that dropped on Netflix Friday, putting the likes of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) all on the same side of the fight, slugging it out with the vicious enemy known as the Hand.
For his solo series, Frank Castle won't need any such backup. He has all the firepower he needs in his own arsenal, as the teaser makes plainly clear, with several quick shots featuring the criminal-killing criminal unloading shotguns into his enemies, and slamming a sledge hammer into a concrete floor, resulting in the character's iconic skull being embedded in the hard, gray ground.
"All the things I've done — memories — they never hurt me," says Castle in the teaser. "But the past is more than memories. It's the devil you sold your soul to. He's coming. He's coming to collect."
The teaser stops short of announcing a release date for The Punisher, which is expected to drop at some point in 2017. The series stars Bernthal in the role he first played in the second season of Daredevil, alongside fellow Daredevil veteran Deborah Ann Woll reprising her role as Karen Page. Westworld alum Ben Barnes and Girls actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach are both part of the cast as well.
