'Sinister 2' director Ciaran Foy is behind the feature, set in a secluded clinic.

Netflix has picked up the horror thriller Eli from Paramount.

The movie was set for a Jan. 4, 2019 release date, and was set to be the sophomore feature from studio label Paramount Players.

The film from Sinister 2 director Ciaran Foy tells the story of a secluded clinic where a boy with a rare disease is being treated. Soon, the clinic becomes a haunted prison without a way out. David Chirchirillo penned the script for Eli, which made the 2015 Black List.

Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, Kelly Reilly, Max Martini, Lili Taylor and Charlie Shotwell star in the film, which Netflix will release in 2019.

The Eli pick-up comes after the streamer has acquired several other soon-to-be-released studio projects, including Paramount's The Cloverfield Paradox, Universal's sci-fi feature Extinction and Sony's long-delayed Jungle Book adaption, Mowgli.
