Keanu Reeves is circling to star in the feature project.

Netflix is staying up Past Midnight.

The digital streamer has picked up the vigilante superhero project titled Past Midnight that will be directed by Dope filmmaker Rick Famuyiwa and produced by Joe and Anthony Russo, the filmmakers behind Avengers: Infinity War.

Keanu Reeves is the choice for the lead but sources say negotiations have not begun.

The project hails from screenwriter T.J. Fixman, known for his work on the 2016 video game adaptation Ratchet & Clank for the big screen.

Past Midnight tells of a former vigilante who was sentenced to life in prison after being captured by the police while stopping the worst domestic terrorism act ever to hit New York City. The hero must team up with a disillusioned detective to track down his old nemesis, who has returned to threaten the city once more.

Word on the project comes after news broke that Famuyiwa, who once was going to direct DC's The Flash movie, had signed on to helm an adaptation of the graphic novel Black Hole.
