Marco Polo season 2 will debut globally on July 1, Netflix announced today at a press conference in Paris.

The new season for the action adventure series will have ten episodes and will continue the story of the famous explorer's journey in Kublai Khan's court in 13th century China.

What's more, Netflix also revealed the release dates for two new original series, The Crown and Marseille.

Marseille will launch on May 5 globally with eight episodes. The political drama tells the story of Robert Taro, the long-serving mayor of Marseille, and the power struggle with his successor, Lucas Barrès.


Lastly, The Crown will premiere with ten episodes on November 4. The series tells the inside story of Queen Elizabeth II's early reign and is based on the play The Audience.


The Crown's cast is headlined by Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Prince Phillip, Claire Foy (Wolf Hall) as Queen Elizabeth II, and John Lithgow (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) as Sir Winston Churchill.
