One of the funniest fan-theories to come from Avengers: Endgame, was Ant-Man beating Thanos by entering his butt and then expanding to kill him from within his body. While Thanos was defeated, the theory never came to fruition. However, Marvel Comics posed the question about why Ant-Man didn't try the move to defeat his enemies.

The Thanos/Ant-Man theory speculated that Ant-Man would shrink down in size, enter Thanos via his backside, and then expand into Giant-Man to rip him into pieces from the inside. The 'Thanus' theory inspired plenty of memes and while it never happened in Endgame, the theory was suggested as a way to defeat one of Marvel's strongest heroes in the pages of The Cosmic Ghost-Rider Destroys the Marvel Universe.

In The Cosmic Ghost-Rider Destroys The Marvel Universe #5 by Paul Scheer, Nick Giovannetti, Nathan Stockman, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Travis Lanham, the future Frank Castle (possessed by the Spirit of Vengenace) is desperate to change history in an effort to save his family from being murdered. His adventures see him altering history and changing the Marvel Universe in an effort to rewrite his own past. When the book flashes to a time where some of Earth's Mightiest Heroes are part of a circus act, Castle makes a crude suggestion. In the scene, the Cosmic Ghost Rider agitates the Hulk which causes the Jade Giant to go berserk. That's when the Cosmic Ghost Rider suggests that Ant-Man can take out the Hulk by flying up "his you-know-what and then grow?" Castle pressures a reluctant Ant-Man by telling him "I thought you were serious about stopping him."

Ant-Man goes for the Hulk's butt, but at the last second changes his mind and decides to find a different way to take down the green monster. The Cosmic Ghost Rider can't believe that Ant-Man almost went up the Hulk's backside, telling him "I can't believe you almost did it. The other Ant-Man would have."

The moment is a hilarious reference to the absurd Thanus theory. It shows that even in the pages of Marvel Comics, the idea of Ant-Man going inside his opponent and expanding to rip them apart isn't the worst idea - even if it's one of the grossest. Thankfully, readers don't see the plan go into action as Ant-Man understandably chickens out at the last second. For those wanting to see Ant-Man enter his opponent's butt and expand kill them, you'll have to wait another day - at least they can enjoy the fact it sort of happened already in an X-Men comic.
