Talk To Me Trailer: New A24 Horror Movie Opens Hell Portal With Embalmed Hand

The new trailer for Talk to Me has just been released, showing off more of A24's demonic horror movie and the embalmed hand that opens a portal straight to hell. Directed by brothers Danny and Michael Philippou, Talk To Me is an upcoming Australian horror movie following a group of teenagers who discover an embalmed hand that allows them to communicate with the dead. The film stars Sophie Wilde as Mia, with supporting cast members including Joe Bird, Alexandra Jensen, Otis Dhanji, Marcus Johnson, and Mirando Otto.

After releasing the first Talk to Me clip earlier this year, A24 has now released a full-length trailer for the upcoming horror flick, showing just how badly things go for Sophie and the other teens who inadvertently leave open their newfound portal to hell. Check out the trailer below:

Talk to Me premiered at SXSW last month, earning overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics, who praised the film's practical effects, strong story, and scares, some of which are shown off in the trailer above.

What The Talk To Me Trailer Reveals About The Movie

The new trailer provides the best look yet at the mysterious embalmed hand that serves as a portal to the souls of the dead but also teases an emotional and very personal story for Mia. Mia is seemingly still reeling from the death of her mother, and the hand clearly represents an opportunity for Wilde's character to reconnect with her late parent. Clearly, however, things don't go as planned when Mia and her friends leave the portal open beyond the stated 90-second limit.

This combination of mixing horror with immensely personal and traumatic stories of grief is nothing new for A24. Previous A24-distributed horror movies like the grief-filled Hereditary, Midsommar, Lamb, Men, and Saint Maud also deal with similar themes, and it's part of what makes them so effective. One major difference, however, is that Talk to Me seems to be focusing mostly on a group of young people, which could make the film especially appealing to teen audiences.

While careful to leave many elements of Talk to Me mysterious, the trailer shows glimpses of the extent to which everything will go wrong for Mia. Not only will she seemingly come face to face with an undead corpse (possibly her mother), but she will seemingly eventually become fully possessed herself. Many questions remain about Talk to Me, but the A24 flick is already shaping up to be one of this year's scariest horrors.
