Writer-director Josh Trank has shared a closer look at Tom Hardy as gangster Al Capone.

Depending on how you count it, this is a second official look at Hardy in the upcoming biopic Fonzo, as last week, Fandango tweeted (and deleted) a different still of Hardy as Capone. Hardy has also shared unofficial Instagram shots of him in character from the film's New Orlean's set.

Fonzo centers on a particular period in Capone's life, when at the age of 47, dementia has rotted Capone’s mind following an imprisonment of nearly a decade. Past and present blend together as memories of his violent origins slip into his waking hours. Other stars in Fonzo include Linda Cardellini, Matt Dillon, Kyle MacLachlan and Kathrine Narducci

Capone died in 1947 at the age of 48.

Fonzo is Trank's first feature after 2015's ill-fated Fantastic Four, which bombed at the box office and tanked with critics. Its troubled production led to the filmmaker losing a Star Wars film. Trank previously directed the hit found-footage film Chronicle.
