The Weinstein Co.'s 'The Current Wars' will now hit theaters over Thanksgiving.

The Weinstein Co. is making some holiday plans and is moving the release of Mary Magdalene to Easter, while The Current Wars will now open over Thanksgiving weekend.
Mary Magdalene, which will hit theaters March 30, 2018, reunites the creative team behind Lion, including director Garth Davis, and stars Rooney Mara as Magdalene and Joaquin Phoenix as Jesus. The feature is moving back off an awards-run release date of Nov. 24.
Taking over the Nov. 24 date will be TWC's Current Wars, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Thomas Edison and Michael Shannon as George Westinghouse in the race to popularize electricity.
Current Wars, which will debut at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, was originally set to open with a Christmas release on Dec. 22. On its new date, it will open opposite Cannes favorite Call Me by Your Name, and will be competing against other Thanksgiving releases including Pixar's Coco and Aaron Sorkin's Molly's Game.
Mary Magdalene will now also open opposite Ready Player One.
