Marvel has created a special issue of Guardians of the Galaxy to be distributed to Children's Hospitals across the United States.

The project is in collaboration with Disney and Child Life Council, and together, the companies have delivered a number of care packages featuring other big Marvel names, like Captain America and Iron Man.

Guardians of the Galaxy Custom Edition No. 1 is also available to read online.

The comic is inspired by "the challenges kids face during or after a hospitalization or treatment," when kids may feel as if they're outcasts, or don't fit in. Guardians of the Galaxy Custom Edition No. 1 aims to prove there is "nothing shameful about needing help from friends, family, or professional caregivers."

The Guardians are the "perfect embodiment of people relying on each other for different strengths," Marvel Comics editor Mark Basso says.

Guardians of the Galaxy's film sequel—Vol. 2—debuts in theaters May 5, 2017. James Gunn recently confirmed Kurl Russell, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Chris Sullivan have officially joined the cast.
