Marvel Studios' Captain America movie trilogy - many would argue the best series within the MCU - will soon get a 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray release. Over the course of the MCU's first decade of existence, three heroes have been lucky enough to star in their own named trilogy of films, those being Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America. Based on general sentiment, the trilogy among those that's most worthy of adulation is Captain America's, with many still holding up Captain America: The Winter Soldier as the all-around best individual film in the MCU franchise.

Captain America's trilogy includes three films from three very different time periods within the MCU, and in a way almost shows off the evolution of the franchise as a whole. 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger served as the final introductory story before 2012's The Avengers, and introduced fans to the member of the team with both the biggest heart and the saddest backstory. 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, introduced directors Joe and Anthony Russo to the MCU, and revealed that much of what fans thought they knew about S.H.I.E.L.D. was a lie. This revelation influenced Cap's reaction to the Sokovia Accords in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, leading to a fracturing of Earth's mightiest heroes that inadvertently served to make it easier for Thanos to accomplish his goals in Avengers: Infinity War.

Now, all three Captain America MCU movies look set to receive new 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray releases, as reported by Comic Book. The site spotted three new pre-order listings on Amazon France that appear to confirm the releases, which are sold separately. Notably, Disney has yet to comment on the veracity of the listings. The First Avenger is slated for February 26, while The Winter Soldier and Civil War arrive on April 24, not too long before the theatrical release of Avengers: Endgame.

Assuming these listings for the Captain America movies on 4K disc are accurate, they'll likely arrive in other major markets around the same time. The First Avenger, The Winter Soldier, and Civil War would join prior 4k MCU releases by Disney of The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Ant-Man and the Wasp. Doctor Strange will also hit the format in January. Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Incredible Hulk also have 4k Ultra HD releases via distributors Sony and Universal, respectively.

With physical media becoming less and less popular as the years go on, one wonders if there will even be a home video format that succeeds 4K Ultra HD, which in itself isn't even close to surpassing normal Blu-Ray in sales. Then again, many people seem to have stopped upgrading their movie collections after regular old DVD. Still, for those who insist on watching their favorite movies in the best picture and sound quality possible, 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray currently can't be beat, and is easily the best way to see Captain America kick lots of Hydra butt at home.
