Mark Wahlberg and his brother Donnie are to appear in a new US reality series about their family burger restaurant.

The show is titled Wahlburgers after the Wahlberg clan's fast food joint in the small town of Hingham, Massachusetts, which is around 15 miles from Boston. The whole family will appear in the series including older brother Paul, the restaurant's chef, and Wahlberg matriarch Alma, who is described in a press release as "spirited".

The series will begin on US cable network A&E on January 22. "We're thrilled to partner with the entire Wahlberg family as they graciously lift the curtain to share this new side of their story," A&E executive David McKillop said in the press release. "This series offers viewers a new take on the celebrity reality series showcasing one of America's favourite families." Mark and Donnie Wahlberg will both serve as executive producers on the series.

On its Facebook page Wahlburgers describes itself as "a fast casual burger concept by... Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg and brothers Mark & Donnie Wahlberg".

Diners are invited to "enjoy fresh ground beef burgers made to order, sandwiches, crispy fries, salads and frappes" with the option either to take advantage of the "convenient counter service" or "dine-in and enjoy the full Wahlburgers experience in our bar area". A second branch of Wahlburgers is set to open in Toronoto, Canada early next year.
