Richard Dean Anderson as MacGyver
A MacGyver TV reboot is also in the works, produced by Furious 7 director James Wan. Original series producer Henry Winkler and NCIS: Los Angeles executive producer R. Scott Gemmill are also on board. As planned, the new show will follow Angus MacGyver in his 20s, and will explore how he's acquired his notorious skill set.
Back in 2012, Wan had plans for a MacGyver film reboot that got scrapped when he signed on to Furious 7. The director's initial idea was to "do a young college MacGyver who went to Boston, one of the great universities." He went on to compare the project to Enemy of the State, "if Will Smith had the brains of MacGyver."
