    M. Night Shyamalan, Bruce Willis to Reunite for 'Unbreakable' Sequel

Samuel L. Jackson will also reprise his role as Elijah Price in new film, 'Glass'

    M. Night Shyamalan confirmed that he finished the script for the follow-up to both Unbreakable, a film from 2000 starring Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson, and Split, starring James McAvoy that was released last year. The new movie, Glass, will come out in early 2019.

Shyamalan announced the news in a series of Twitter posts. "It's taken 17 years but I can finally answer the #1 question I get, 'Are you making a f#&@ing sequel to Unbreakable or what?'" he wrote. "My new film is the sequel to Unbreakable and Split. It was always my dream to have both films collide in this third film."

He also revealed details about the film's cast, which includes "the iconic" Willis, "the incomparable" Jackson," "the virtuoso" McAvoy, and "the prodigy" Anya Taylor-Joy." The first two actors were central to Unbreakable, while the second two were the focus of Split. Willis also made a surprise cameo during the twist ending of Split, suddenly linking two films that initially appeared unrelated.

Universal Pictures confirmed Shyamalan's Twitter posts and also released a short synopsis of Glass. "Glass finds Dunn [Willis] pursuing Crumb's [McAvoy's] superhuman figure of the Beast in a series of escalating encounters," the studio explained in a statement. "The shadowy presence of Price [Jackson] emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men."

Shyamalan's latest project aims to build on the box office success of Split: according to The Hollywood Reporter, that movie cost $9 million to make and made $275 million worldwide.

Unbreakable was good. Hopefully they don't spend $150 million making the sequel because movie budgets have really gotten out of control.
