Do you like Pirates of the Caribbean? Do you watch Fear the Walking Dead? If you said yes to both of those questions then we have good news for you. It's been quiet on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales for a while now, but Disney just dropped a surprise announcement that the first teaser for the film will premiere tonight. The trailer will air during tonight's episode of Fear the Walking Dead on AMC.

The announcement comes from the Walt Disney Studios Twitter account, who revealed that the trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will be making a surprise appearance during Fear the Walking Dead. The zombie horror spin off airs tonight at 9 PM on AMC, with the trailer for the fifth installment of the Pirates franchise falling somewhere in that hour. It will be the first footage we've seen from the film, and one would guess that Disney is hoping to get lots of social buzz if it's premiering the trailer during a show with a high social media presence like Fear the Walking Dead.

Pirates of the Caribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is the fifth film in the successful Pirates franchise from Disney. The film is directed by Norwegian filmmakers Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning and sees the return of Johnny Depp as the popular Captain Jack Sparrow. Along for the ride is Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbosa and Orlando Bloom reprising his role as Will Turner for the first time since Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Joining the series is Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, playing the main antagonist, Captain Salazar. Rounding out the cast is David Wenham, Brenton Thwaites, and Kaya Scodelario.

The film finds a down on his luck Jack Sparrow against his old nemesis Salazar. Salazar has been imprisoned in the Devil's Triangle and finally escapes alongside his crew of ghosts. The vengeful captain plans to eradicate every pirate out on sea - including Jack. In order to stop him, Jack must find the fabled Trident of Poseidon, which is said to grant its wielder the power to control the seas. Joining him is his old friend Will Turner, the captain of the mystical Flying Dutchman.

The jury is still out on how this Pirates will turn out, but tonight's trailer should help to give a stronger indication. Many believe that the franchise has delivered diminishing quality with each installment, with none of the sequels living up to the highs of the original. This fifth film is said to harken back to the franchise's roots, hoping to capture the spirit of what made Curse of the Black Pearl so enjoyable.
