The film was written and directed by Dan Fogelman and stars Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, Annette Bening, Samuel L. Jackson and Antonio Banderas.

Amazon Studios released the first full trailer for Life Itself on Tuesday (July 10).

The ensemble drama was written and directed by This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman. The film stars Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, Annette Bening, Samuel L. Jackson, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Cooke, Mandy Patinkin and Laia Costa.

Life Itself centers on a couple (Wilde and Isaac) that lead a multi-generational love story. The film features characters from different decades and continents, from New York to Spain, who are connected by a single event.

A teaser trailer for Life Itself was released in March. That preview gave a glimpse of the relationship between Isaac's and Wilde's characters. As shots of the many stars are shown, an unseen character states in a voice-over, "No one knows where their story is going, nor who the heroes in it are going to be." Isaac's character later says, "Strange to think about how a completely random moment could shape my entire life."

The film is set to hit theaters on Sept. 21.
