The announcement was made by Annastacia Palaszczuk, premier of the state of Queensland, who said that it will film in the Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast. Pre production will begin this month and lensing take place in early 2016. The production will also take in two other international locations, not revealed, Palaszczuk said.

“Skull” is the third major Hollywood movie to be confirmed as heading for Australia in the past week. In the last few days Oz politicians said that Ridley Scott’s next “Alien” film and the latest Chris Hemsworth vehicle, “Thor: Ragnarok,” will be filmed Down Under.
