Kit Harington filmed 15 hours of fake Game of Thrones season 7 scenes to keep the real plot safe

Game of Thrones season 7 is already going above and beyond but Kit Harington is on a whole other level. Jon Snow himself has pulled out all the stops to avoid spoilers being leaked for the penultimate season in Westeros – and that includes filming hours and hours of fake scenes.
Appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel show, Harington was grilled on whether he’d meet a certain Mother of Dragons but, instead, the (former) leader of the Night’s Watch revealed this juicy nugget, "What I can say about this season is: we had a lot of paparazzi following us around, especially when we were in Spain, and we did fake some scenes. We put together people in situations where we knew the paparazzi were around so they'd take photos and that would get on the internet to fake scenes so people would think they were real."
It wasn’t just a one and done thing, though. Not even close. Harington revealed that, on his day off of all days, he was involved in shooting a fake scene and he eventually ended up shooting three fake scenes that took 5 hours each.

So, those Jon Snow scenes you may or may not have seen swirling around the internet (don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone) might just be big ol’ fakes. Possible spoilers below:

Except – as Kimmel pointed out – he could just be saying that to cover his tracks in which case the scenes you saw which might be fakes are definitely not fakes because Jon Snow pretended they’re fakes and they’re actually not fakes. Clear? Good.
