Frasier Crane has left the building — and apparently grabbed his badass badge on the way out. As if the cast of Expendables 3 couldn’t get anymore intense or bizarre, Deadline is reporting that Kelsey Grammer is in final talks to play a pivotal role in Sylvester Stallone’s Expendables 3.

Per Deadline:

Remember when Nicolas Cage was supposed to join the ensemble of action stars of Millennium Films’ The Expendables 3? Well, guess what, that role is going to Kelsey Grammer. Grammer is near a deal to play the role of Bonaparte, an ex-mercenary who helps the Expendables in their mission. While Grammer was long identified for playing the mild-mannered shrink-turned radio host Dr. Frasier Crane, he has transformed into a Hollywood tough guy.

The report isn’t wrong in that Grammer has tucked away the high brow humor of Frasier to pursue a career that completely goes against the image he created for himself in the 90s. Since starring on Frasier, Grammer has starred in an X-Men movie and played a brutal Chicago politician on his way to somehow ending up in the cast of Expendables 3.

Grammer seems to be the last late addition to the cast, but we thought the movie couldn’t pack any more punch on the call sheet than it already did, so who knows what’s next for Expendables 3.
