Kate Beckinsale is apparently in something of a horror groove. After starring in the supernatural drama “Eliza Graves”, she is now mulling over an offer to star in another movie with very definite supernatural overtones — this time “The Disappointments Room” for Media Talent Group.

If she signs on, Beckinsale will play “a mother who moves her family to a nice Colonial manse in the country. The woman slowly begins to lose her sanity as she learns of the home’s bloody past and is afflicted by visions of a dead girl.”

D.J. Caruso (“Disturbia”) has already signed on to direct the film, which is currently selling over at the American Film Market.

The other big story here is that this is another sell for Wentworth Miller, the star of Fox’s “Prison Break”, who has moved on to screenwriting, with last year’s “Stoker”. Which is weird. You don’t usually get a lot of people who are already established actors moving to screenwriting. To directing, sure, but not usually just to screenwriting. If anything, it’s mostly the other way around.
