Justin Lin is one busy man. Fresh off rejuvenating the “Fast and Furious” franchise and acquiring the documentary “The Battered Bastards of Baseball,” the director has now been tapped to develop and produce the movie “Toymageddon” for Fox.

“Toymageddon” is apparently about “a toy factory that runs amok,” and in Hollywood speak is “a four quadrant, live-action family adventure movie in the vein of Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters.” And yes, I have no idea what quadrants have to do with this, either.

Lin will just be producing, though I guess he could also decide to direct, too. I’m sure Fox is probably hoping he will do just that.

The high-concept idea hails from Tariq Merhab.

Fox and Lin will now be looking for a writer to actually, you know, write the movie. Until then, Lin will be producing a movie version of “The Battered Bastards of Baseball” and, if all goes well, direct the latest “Bourne” movie starring Jeremy Renner. Dude has so many projects in the air, who knows if he’ll end up doing any one of them.
