Which Justice League Member Is The Heart Of The Movie, According To Zack Snyder

After several months and numerous character posters, yesterday finally saw the release of the first full Justice League trailer. It's a very solid trailer that teases plenty of action with a little humor as The Flash, Aquaman, and even Batman trade some jokes. It's definitely a lighter tone from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but that doesn't mean there won't be any emotion either. Director Zack Snyder pointed out that one character emerged as the heart of the film and, ironically, it's the one how may not technically even have a heart.

Cyborg, the DCEU's resident Pinocchio, will have one emotional story to tell by the time Justice League wraps up. Zack Snyder spoke with USA Today in honor of the trailer drop, where he revealed some small but interesting details about the upcoming epic. He spoke a little on each of the main characters, but it's Cyborg who may bring that single tear falling down your cheek.

They're each such awesome personalities in the movie. You have Jason stomping around as this inked hairy man, just this mythic figure. And you've got Ezra, who's full of life and hilarious and all over the place and amazing --- a really fun and also poignant Flash. And Ray's story is in a lot of the ways the heart of the movie.

The "Ray" he's referring to is, of course, Ray Fisher who portrays Cyborg in Justice League. It's not too surprising to learn that Cyborg's tale will be emotional -- he has one of the saddest stories in DC Comics. Athlete Vic Stone is left mortally wounded after a horrible accident, and his super-scientist father uses advanced technology to turn his son into a cyborg, saving his life but forever alienating him from humanity. Cyborg often deals with the existential crisis of if he can even still be considered human, and what his place in the world will be. We partly saw his (horrifying) origin in Dawn of Justice, but Justice League will be showing more of how Vic ended up on that operating table.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, and is the first live action movie of DC's iconic superhero team. The film follows a rejuvenated Batman as he assembles a team of metahumans to combat an incoming threat that they can only defeat together. The film stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, and Henry Cavil (don't worry, he's still in it).

Justice League is set to premiere on November 17, 2017. To learn as much as possible about the film check out What We Know So Far. It's still a long road to November, so stay with CinemaBlend and we'll keep you updated on new information as it becomes available.
