The Justice League battles Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin) in a fan-created video paying homage to the Avengers: Infinity War trailer. Marvel is set to commemorate their 10th year in the filmmaking business with the epic blockbuster — an unprecedented attempt to culminate a decades’ worth of narratives told across a span of 18 movies, including next month’s Black Panther. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, it is expected to bring together all heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe against the purple supervillain and his minions, the Black Order.

Being two of the top-tier comic book companies who have fully launched their respective movie franchises, it’s understandable that Marvel and DC often get compared to each other. While online dialogue among fans can be vile and very toxic, mash-up videos and even posters are very popular, imagining what it would be like if the two superhero camps switched realities or better yet, co-exist in one.

Courtesy of YouTube channel Live Breathe Media, the trailer follows the beat-by-beat pattern of the original Infinity War trailer. Only this time, instead of the Avengers, we see the Justice League, alongside some other characters that inhabit the DC world. While this is not the first time that we have seen fan-made crossover clips, what’s interesting here is the creator’s choices when it comes to who is included in the footage. For instance, although Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman and Cyborg are their current big screen incarnations with Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill and Ray Fisher, the Flash used is the Arrowverse iteration with Grant Gustin, alongside his small screen cohort, Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow. Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern is also present, plus the Suicide Squad, paralleling the Guardians of the Galaxy in the original video. Check it about above.

Since its debut in late November, the Infinity War trailer has been dissected by many in the hopes of finding any detail that could give us an inkling as to what will go down in the film. It has broken YouTube’s 24- hour record views and has spawned numerous breakdown articles, including our own. On a lighter note, some fans creating mashups were a bit more playful with the footage, coming up with different versions of it with several other IPs like Disney animation, as well as this most recent one. The massive interest just in the promo clip alone mirrors the kind of anticipation that the fans have for the massive Marvel ensemble flick.

As for the DC Films Universe, fans would have to wait for a little a while longer for any new movie from the franchise. After a split year with their groundbreaking hit Wonder Woman in the summer followed by a rather underwhelming performance by Justice League, Warner Bros. is taking a step back when it comes to rolling out films. The next movie on the docket is James Wan’s Aquaman this Decembet. In the meantime, the company is busy doing some internal executive reshuffling with the introduction of IT and The Conjuring producer Walter Hamada to be the new president of production of DC movies. How the film series move forward with him, with the help of Geoff Johns as an advisor, remains to be seen. But judging from his portfolio, it appears that the exec knows how to make low-cost, quality films, something that is important for the film studio in order to push through.
