Justice League: Brett Ratner Credit Replaced For Home Video

As Warner Bros. prepares for the release of Justice League on DVD and Blu-ray, the studio is officially severing any remaining ties with Brett Ratner’s involvement.

The relationship between the DCEU and Ratner’s production company RatPac goes as far back as Batman V Superman and extends through the likes of Suicide Squad to Justice League. The company also helped co-finance movies like X-Men: First Class, Prometheus, and Avatar for other studios, but has become something of a sticking point in the recent wave of accusations made against Ratner. Stars like Ellen Page, Olivia Munn, and Natasha Henstridge have all outed Ratner’s concerning behavior, and it doesn’t look like anyone is taking it lying down.

Warner Bross. may have already parted ways with the 48-year-old, but the DCEU is now erasing any mention of the director ahead of Justice League‘s home release. According to Batman-News’ Twitter, Ratner’s RatPac logo has been replaced by Access Entertainment:

The DCEU has united to turn its back on the Ratner years, with Gal Gadot already refusing to take part in Wonder Woman 2 if he was involved. Similar to Justice League, Patty Jenkins’ movie was part-financed by RatPac, meaning that Ratner himself would’ve taken home a substantial sum of money.

However, for those who don’t know, his specter will still loom over Justice League’s home release. Although the Access Entertainment logo will appear at the start of the movie, the company is effectively an owner of RatPac after Len Blavatnik’s Access Industries bought out the stake of RatPac’s James Packer in 2017. That being said, at least Warner Bros. is doing what it can to remove Ratner’s involvement with the superhero ensemble.

The deal between WB and RatPac was due to be up for renewal in March, but it looks like Geoff Johns and co. have made the decision early. Ratner had already stepped away from his relationship with the studio, citing, “In light of the allegations being made, I am choosing to personally step away from all Warner Bros.-related activities. I don’t want to have any possible negative impact to the studio until these personal issues are resolved.” It now seems that the DCEU is keen to pave over the whole mess and seemingly try and erase Ratner’s involvement.

It is massive fall from grace considering that the man behind X-Men: The Last Stand was once tipped to be the director of Justice League. However, in the wake of so many shocking allegations, it is only right that the studio does what is necessary to protect its image. Similar to Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, those at the top are standing strong against those in Hollywood who have seemingly committed such atrocities. Justice League already has enough on its plate to make up for the critical and commercial failure of the movie, while an association with Ratner was surely never going to help the situation.
