The actor behind Loki says he's interested in playing another iconic character: Bond. James Bond.

Tom Hiddleston told The Sunday Times (via THR) that he's a "huge fan" of the Bond films and indicated that he'd be up for the physical demands of the job.

"I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing," he said. "If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity. And I’m very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly."

Speculation has been heating up as to who would play the next Bond if Daniel Craig ultimately decides not to reprise the role. He had quipped that he'd rather slash his wrists than come back last year, but then clarified that he simply needs a break before thinking about coming back. His friend Mark Strong also indicated that he may be ready to hang up the tuxedo.

Among the names often passed around as a possible Bond replacement is Hiddleston's Thor co-star Idris Elba, who recently joined The Dark Tower, Sony's screen adaptation of the Stephen King saga.
