Paramount and Skydance’s reboot of the “Terminator” franchise has found the Terminator’s enemy/ally (depending on the plot this time ’round) in Australian actor Jai Courtney, who will be adding the role to the 50 or so other movies he’ll be doing in 2014.

Variety reports that the very busy Courtney will join “Game of Thrones’” Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, with Jason Clarke (no relation) as John Connor, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Arnold Schwarzenegger. Er, I mean, as the Terminator. (Whether this is the good or bad Terminator, once again, depends on whatever nonsense plot they come up with this time ’round.)

“Thor: The Dark World’s” Alan Taylor will direct the film, officially titled “Terminator: Genesis,” which is expected (as if you couldn’t already guessed) to be the first of an all-new trilogy that may or may not be associated in anyway whatsoever with the James Cameron films or the McG sequel, “Terminator Salvation.”

Will this be something with actual original ideas or just a blatant cash grab? I guess we’ll find out in 2015.
