The dark comedy is heading to AFM in Santa Monica with Sierra/Affinity.

Jon Bernthal (Baby Driver), Evan Peters (American Animals), Charlie Plummer (All the Money in the World) and Josh Gad (Beauty and the Beast) are teaming for the darkly comedic actioner Snow Ponies.

The film, which is being relaunched at AFM with Sierra/Affinity looking after international sales, is being helmed by Darrin Prescott, a second unit director on such films as Baby Driver, Deadpool 2 and Black Panther, from a script by Pat Healy that was featured on the 2006 Black List.

Snow Ponies follows a crew of seven hardened men who travel across a vicious landscape to deliver a mysterious package. Met by murderous bandits and brutal obstacles at every turn, they are forced to choose between survival and honor, loyalty and deceit, all the while wondering what secrets their precious cargo may contain. Gerard Butler was initially attached to star in the film when it first launched in Berlin in 2017.

Snow Ponies is being produced by 87Eleven, Nickel City Pictures and Entertainment One, with Kelly McCormick producing via the 87Eleven banner and Tobias Weymar and Mark Fasano producing for Nickel City. Nickel City’s Ankur Rungta and Vishal Rungta and 87Eleven’s David Leitch and Chad Stahelski are executive producing. Jenny Jue is the casting director on the project.
