If you've been paying even the slightest bit of attention to the world of TV and film, you'll notice that superheroes are everywhere. Between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe, there are tons of quality comic adaptations being produced at any given moment. And because these high profile movies can lead to big bucks and bigger exposure, popular actors all seem to be jumping on board to rock a cape and tights. One of the most highly anticipated upcoming superhero movies is Ben Affleck's (kinda) untitled Batman movie, and fans have been wondering if a live action version of Robin would be appearing. Now we may know who is going to don the red and yellow suit.

Joe Manganiello will be playing Deathstroke in the Battfleck movie, and he recently posted an image on Instagram that heavily implies which actor (or in this case, actress) is going to be Batman's sidekick.

Oh my yes. I really hope this is true, and I don't think I'm the only one.

Joe Manganiello is hinting that Anna Kendrick may be playing the Carrie Kelly version of Robin in the DC Extended Universe. For those of you who don't know, Carrie Kelly is one of the newest incarnations of the Caped Crusader's sidekick. In the comics, she starts as a 13 year old girl who Batman saves from a mutant gang. She idolizes Batman, and he eventually he decides to train her as his newest protégé after she saves the Bat's life. Carrie Kelly is one of the more popular Robins in recent years, as people enjoy another female superhero as well as her ingenuity and scrappy attitude.

Anna Kendrick is actually the perfect person to bring Carrie Kelly to life. While she's not exactly a teenager, we don't know when in the overall timeline the Battfleck movie will take place. She may have already been fighting crime during the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and we just didn't see her. And with the considerable star power Kendrick brings to any project, she'd be a producer and director's dream to bring Carrie to life for the first time.

Robin isn't the only superhero that Anna Kendrick has been rumored to appear as. For the past few months, fans have been uniting in an attempt for Kendrick to appear as fan favorite Marvel character Squirrel Girl. Kendrick herself has said she'd be down to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but now it appears that DC may have scooped her up first.

Of course, Joe Manganiello may just be pulling our legs. Surely, the announcement of Anna Kendrick's involvement in the DCEU would be made in a venue other than his Instagram. But who knows? Both Brie Larson and Manganiello himself were cast as Captain Marvel and Deathstroke following a strong social media campaign. And with the solo Batman movie so early in development, Manganiello's suggestion may become fact soon enough.
