The film, which stars Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role, tells the story of a man who falls in love with a computer operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johansson) following a difficult break-up with his ex-wife, as played by Rooney Mara. Amy Adams, Olivia Wilde and Chris Pratt will also all feature in the film, which is released in UK cinemas on January 24, 2014.

Speaking about the film at the LA Film Festival earlier this summer, Jonze described it as: "a movie set in the slight future of LA and Joaquin Phoenix's character buys the world's first artificially intelligent operating system... It basically turns into a human, this entity, this consciousness, on his computer."

It was revealed earlier this year that Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O had contributed a solo track titled 'The Moon Song' for the film's score, while Canadian band Arcade Fire will also feature on the soundtrack. Both O and Win Butler's band contributed music to Jonze's 2009 film Where The Wild Things Are.
