J.K. Simmons is ready to do whatever might be needed to complete Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League. When the theatrical release of Justice League hit theaters in 2017, the possibility of Snyder's true version ever being released appeared to be slim. Warner Bros. interfered with his vision after Snyder stepped away from the film in early 2017 following the death of his daughter. Joss Whedon then rewrote and reshot a majority of Justice League and has recently come under fire for alleged unprofessional behavior.

Now more than three years after Justice League was released, Zack Snyder will be able to share his cut on HBO Max in 2021. This won't simply be an extended cut of what audiences saw in theaters, but should feel like a completely new project. The Snyder Cut of Justice League includes multiple new characters, different arcs for the main cast, and more screentime for some supporting members. All of this will be done using existing footage Snyder shot during principal photography in 2016, as there will reportedly be no reshoots done on Justice League so he can add new scenes or scrapped ideas.

One character who might get more to do in Zack Snyder's Justice League is J.K. Simmons' Commissioner Jim Gordon. Screen Rant recently had the chance to talk to Simmons as part of the promotional tour for Hulu's Palm Springs, which will begin streaming July 10. During the conversation, we asked Simmons if he knew whether Snyder needs him to do any more work to complete the Snyder Cut. So far, Simmons is unsure if he'll need to do more but says he is ready to do whatever it takes:

Simmons is likely not the only Justice League cast member who is ready to do their part to complete the Snyder Cut. Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa have been extremely supportive of Snyder throughout this process and would surely return to film more if need be. There are currently no confirmed plans for more filming to happen, even though Snyder previously teased he has scenes involving Martian Manhunter, Lois Lane, Batman, and Superman that he'd like to complete. If additional photography isn't done, then Simmons' work could already be complete, unless he's asked to record new dialogue.

Since the Snyder Cut of Justice League was only confirmed less than two months ago, it will be fascinating to see what does happen on the production side. Snyder has been given much more than the reported $30 million to complete his cut, which includes CGI work and various other aspects of post-production. This doesn't include plans for more filming to be done, and that would be challenging to do now anyway due to the coronavirus. But, if these plans change and Snyder is approved to film more scenes, Simmons is ready to return as Gordon if need be. And even for those who enjoyed the theatrical cut of Justice League, Simmons still believes they'll enjoy what Snyder made.
