Jeremy Irons, who plays Alfred Pennyworth in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, recently spoke out about director Zack Snyder's comic book flick, calling it a "very muddled" movie.

When asked by the Daily Mail (via TheWrap) about the slew of negative reviews the film received, Irons said Batman v Superman was "deservedly" criticized, noting "it took £800 million, so the kicking didn’t matter but it was sort of overstuffed."

That said, Irons sees a promising future for his next DC film, saying Justice League: Part One will offer a more focused narrative. "I think the next one will be simpler," he said. "The script is certainly a lot smaller, it’s more linear."

Warner Bros. has DC Films now being led by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. In fact, Berg is now overseeing the day-to-day production of Justice League, with Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad producer Charles Roven reportedly having his role on future DC movies reduced.

Justice League: Part One opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
