JEREMY Clarkson is seen jokingly moaning about having to stop filming The Grand Tour in order to shoot the "stupid" trailer for the new series.

In the ad for the third series, which was released today, the 58-year-old pokes fun at the “pointless marketing message” while appearing alongside co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May.

Richard kicks off the promo by saying: “Hello, we’re The Grand Tour presenters.”

James continues: “Yes, we’re flat out filming the third series.”

Before a typically unimpressed Jeremy adds: “Well we would be if we weren’t here making this stupid, time-consuming and pointless marketing message.”

The clip for the Amazon Prime show went down well with fans who loved Jeremy’s deadpan delivery.

One person wrote: “Classic Jeremy. Wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Another remarked: “I think I might buy Amazon Prime just because of that incredible ad.”

The third series of The Grand Tour will return on January 18.

A previous trailer for the motoring series, which streams on Prime Video, shows Richard gingerly driving a Jeep over a canyon in Colombia.

The trio are also shown in scenes filmed in Detroit and Nevada, Sweden and Scotland.

Other locations featured in the third series include China, Mongolia and, closer to home, Stansted Airport.
