Details of Obi-Wan's spinoff adventure may have surfaced thanks to a possible synopsis for Obi-Wan: A Star Wars Story. In an effort to expand the Star Wars movies beyond the Skywalker saga, Lucasfilm and Disney began exploring the idea of anthology stories. It proved to be a worthwhile venture when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story grossed over $1 billion at the box office. With Solo: A Star Wars Story receiving generally good (but not great) reviews, it too is poised to perform quite well at the box office. They don't appear to be slowing down either and Obi-Wan appears to be next in line.

A possible solo movie for Mr. Kenobi has long been requested by fans as a way to give Ewan McGregor the chance to reprise his role from the prequels. The project looked to take a step forward when Stephen Daldry was reportedly lining up to direct, but then everything went quiet. It wasn't until recently that it came out that the movie is eyeing an early 2019 start to filming, and now we may know what it will be about.

According to a report from TMZ, they've obtained a production bulletin for Obi-Wan: A Star Wars Story, which they say is the title listed on said document. Along with it listing Daldry as the director, there is also a possible synopsis for Obi-Wan's adventure. Screen Rant has contacted Disney for comment and will update accordingly. But in the meantime, take this with a grain of salt as it appears Obi-Wan could find his place in a war on Tatooine. It's important to note this bears similarity to an old Obi-Wan Legends novel, which raises questions about its validity.

Obi-Wan is on Tatooine being an elusive hermit and stuff, but secretly watches over an infant Luke Skywalker, whom he delivered to his uncle, Owen. Tensions between the local farmers and a tribe of Sand People -- headed by a ruthless war chief -- eventually brings Obi outta hiding.

If this synopsis is true, then this could place Obi-Wan much closer towards Revenge of the Sith than A New Hope in the timeline. Infant typically refers to a child no older than one year old, which would make this pick up right after the fall of the Jedi Order. This would be an odd choice to make as it will be 15 years since Revenge of the Sith when Obi-Wan likely hits theaters. McGregor doesn't look and isn't anywhere close to the age of Alec Guinness in A New Hope, but he's still aged enough that separating his appearances a bit further would seem to make more sense.

The timeline could always be placed a few years later, but the content of Obi-Wan would still remain the same. Making Obi-Wan a peacekeeper seems fitting and a potential war with the Sand People could help build up some history between them, allowing for their encounter in A New Hope to have a bit of a connection. Since Obi-Wan is supposed to be in hiding during these years, taking a place in this war could limit the ability for him to actually use the Force, let alone wield a lightsaber.
