It appears that legendary actor and Los Angeles Lakers sideline occupant Jack Nicholson will be retiring from acting. A report surfaced on Wednesday stating that the actor was set to call it quits on his career and a large portion of the decision comes due to memory loss for the 76-year-old.



“Jack has — without fanfare — retired,” an alleged Hollywood insider said, via Radar Online. “There is a simple reason behind his decision — it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.

“His memory isn’t what it used to be.”

According to the source, Nicholson doesn’t plan on making a big deal out of his decision to retire, but he will comfortably sit back and enjoy what he loves.

“Jack has no intention of retiring from the limelight,” the source added. “He’s not retiring from public life, at all. He just doesn’t want a tribute. He’s happy to tacitly join the retirees club like Sean Connery.”

Whether or not he wants it, it is hard to imagine the icon not getting a tribute down the road and it will be well-deserved.

He has not appeared in a film since How Do You Know in 2010.

Nicholson finishes his acting career as a three-time Academy Award winner and the most Oscar nominees in history at 12. It was a great career, but all good things must come to an end.

It was fun watching him but you know... you can't stop aging.. And you can't expect him to act until he's 100!
